Lavender Blue is located next door to Maison Giraud, the restaurant and bakery helmed by Catherine Giraud’s husband, renowned chef Alain Giraud.

The Los Angeles Times lauded Alain as the “last true French chef standing in Los Angeles” and the bakery as having croissants “better than ones you’d find in Paris.”

The LA Weekly named Maison Giraud as the city’s “Best Souffle” and the vacherin glacé as one of "LA’s 10 Legendary Desserts."

Los Angeles Magazine chose Maison Giraud as one of their "Top 10" new restaurants in 2012 and as one of "LA's Best Bakeries."

Giraud received the “Chef of the Year” award from the California Restaurant Writer’s Association in 2000. He received an unprecedented four-star review from the Los Angeles Times in 2002 for his work at Bastide; and in 2003, Giraud was named “Chef of the Year" by Bon Appétit.

Alain Giraud was born in Paris to a family of restaurateurs.
